As a licensed therapist, I have over eight years of experience working with individuals and families of various ages and backgrounds in school, hospital and private practice settings. My clinical work is focused on preteens, teens and adults who are struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, depression, and stress. And, as a biracial (Asian/White) therapist, I am knowledgeable about unique identity issues for biracial/multiracial individuals and am passionate about supporting others in this area.

I believe therapy should be a collaborative process, and view clients as the experts of their own lives. In sessions, I use a person-centered and integrative approach to use tools and techniques that are the right fit for you. Additionally, I utilize CBT and ACT based strategies.

Beyond this practice, I am a Registered Yoga Teacher and I see infinite value in incorporating mindfulness techniques that promote a feeling of connection, awareness, and balance between your mind and body. This is a unique and integral part of my efforts and practice. I will always bring empathy and kindness in our sessions to create a safe and welcoming environment where you can explore, grow and achieve your goals.

Most importantly, I recognize that the decision to seek and participate in therapeutic services is difficult. And, it can be heavily influenced by someone’s culture or community. I continue to learn from experts in this area to ensure that I am providing culturally competent care with my clients. The impact of trauma can be complex, and I continue to expand my knowledge on trauma and trauma-informed care by attending trainings to support the latest academic and practical findings.

WHO I WORK WITH

Young Adults

The challenges young adults face today are complex and varied. You might feel pressure to achieve success or meet expectations placed on you. Additionally, you’re probably confronted with newfound responsibilities and decisions that impact your future. Navigating these issues are difficult to manage on your own. Together, we can explore these concerns, gain clarity, and develop strategies to support growth, resilience, self-awareness and acceptance.

TEENS

Teens go through constant changes and can face stressors related to school, social media, and relationships. As parents, it can be difficult to know if a teen’s behavior is normal, or if they would benefit from seeing a therapist. Therapy can empower teens in developing tools and strategies to support growth and success. It provides a safe space for them to express themselves without fear or judgment. If you have noticed changes or you have some concerns about your teen’s behaviors or mental health, I am here to answer any questions and support you with this process.

CHILDREN

I provide therapy in assisting children ages eight and up with identifying and expressing emotions, coping and social skills, self-regulation and self-esteem issues. With early intervention, therapy can support your child with developing tools and strategies to help them thrive. For children who may not be able to articulate their feelings, play and art based therapy can allow them to therapeutically express themselves while targeting their goals. I’d be happy to support you with determining if your child is a good fit for therapy and answer any questions you may have.
